I’ve been looking everywhere and for solution and couldn’t find one, looks like the issue is known on Logitech forums since April 2012 and it hasn’t been fixed yet. I wrote to Logitech but they just told me to disable the Smooth Scroll feature and stopped responding after that.
Everything is fine when I use the desktop apps like Google Chrome or Windows explorer, but when I switch to metro apps for example facebook or to browse the pictures, the first two scrolls doesn’t do anything and then the third scroll moves the page or goes to next picture. So when I scroll slowly nothing happens for a few steps.
The solution is to shut down (or better uninstall it completely) the SetPoint – then the scroll wheel starts to work properly. But then the additional mouse buttons stops working (forward, back, I like to have copy, paste, volume up and down configured).
Fortunately there is an alternative for SetPoint: X-Mouse Button Control – tiny app that let’s you configure your mouse buttons however you want to.
Just uninstall Logitech SetPoint, download the X-Mouse Button Control and the scroll wheel bug will be gone.
